The IDSF was officially recognized by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) in 1997 and is affiliated to the General Association of International Sports Federations (GAISF), the Association of the IOC Recognized International Sports Federations (ARISF) and the International World Games Association (IWGA).
The AIDSF aims to spread dancesport around the country. It provides the affiliated states with technical & management support to achieve this goal. It has established a network of contacts in many states and actively promotes the game by transferring knowledge nationally by exchange programmes and inviting selected dance athletes, coaches, and administrators to its training courses in order to create a stable local structure in all the affiliated states on which a flourishing dancesport organization can be built.
Membership to the federation is governed by rules and regulations. AIDSF is open to all interested dance organizations genuinely interested in promoting Dance as a sport and working towards the growth of the art in the country.
